People

Interserve is committed to using fully-trained and competent teams, who excel through our ongoing learning and development programmes, including an intensive customer service training scheme. Across our business we are recognised as an 'Investor in People'.

We offer extensive training and development programmes to ensure our people are fully trained to meet the demands of their role, Interserve has also developed i-Learn, a training platform, to give employees the opportunity to develop their skills while working towards relevant and valuable qualifications including Facilities Management and Cleaning Apprenticeships, developed in conjunction with Asset Skills.

Personal Achievement and Development programme

Staff are supported in gaining the necessary skills (in line with the Agenda for Change, Knowledge and Skills framework), to improve confidence in their abilities and help ensure job effectiveness. This is further supported by a leadership development programme for both central support and operational staff, which has already produced more than 108 graduates.

Leadership edge

Interserve invests in a succession-planning programme based upon a competency structure. Integral to succession planning is a Management Development Programme, which has been developed to provide managers with an appropriate skill base to meet the changing business needs.

Competency passports

Instil confidence in our clients that our staff have been correctly inducted and trained, and are appropriately skilled. A matrix on the reverse side of their ID card identifies their area of competency and is signed off by their line management.

Customer CARE training

A three-tiered training programme for customer service, equipping teams with the necessary foundation to strive for service excellence. CARE is an acronym that reminds our employees to be Credible, Attractive (through looking professional and acting in an appropriate manner at all times), Responsive and Empathetic.

Recognition schemes

Various reward programmes such as the Interserve Training Trust, Long Service Awards and the Best of the Best awards credit people for their outstanding achievements, in line with our corporate values to ensure employees feel valued and respected.
